Tomatillos are a beautiful addition to the garden. The fruit develops inside a lantern-like husk until mature, when they burst out and are ready for picking. We enjoy them raw in salsas, or roasting them for salsa verde sauce to enjoy all winter. For fruit production, be sure to plant at least two tomatillo plants, as they are not self-fertile.

All Plenty Farms plant starts are grown in our custom soil blend. Made from our own compost to provide the plants nutrients, we do not use any chemical fertilizers. We believe this allows the plant to acclimate to home gardens. We recommend you amend your garden soil with compost when planting to give your plants the best start possible!
